By Nikita Finnigan RC racing is heading to one of the most iconic locations in British motorsport this September, with a special one-off event taking place immediately outside Silverstone Museum on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th September 2026.
Organised by Junction 16 Racing, in partnership with Silverstone Museum and Schumacher R/C Racing, the weekend will put 1/10 off-road RC racing right in front of museum visitors and motorsport fans.
The aim of the event is to introduce RC racing to a new audience and showcase just how well the sport can sit alongside the wider motorsport community. With visitors able to watch the action and interact with racers throughout the weekend, it’s a fantastic opportunity to promote the hobby and hopefully pave the way for more events of this kind in the future.

Each year, thousands of BRCA members renew their memberships at the same time. To ensure a smooth renewal process and uninterrupted access to events, it’s important that your account details are up to date and that you can receive BRCA system emails.

For over five decades, John has been at the heart of RC racing — as a racer, organiser, mentor, and ambassador. His knowledge, professionalism, and enthusiasm have made a lasting impact not only within the BRCA but also across the wider RC community, both nationally and internationally.
John’s involvement with the BRCA dates back to the early years of the Association. Over time, he has held numerous key roles, contributed to rule development, event organisation, and has consistently worked to raise the standard of RC racing in the UK.
In more recent years, John’s expertise and leadership were instrumental in supporting high-profile events such as the EFRA European Championships at Halifax, where his work and that of the Halifax team received widespread recognition. His ability to combine technical precision with approachability has earned him respect from competitors and officials alike.
Beyond his technical contributions, John has always been known for his mentorship and encouragement of others. Countless racers, from juniors to seasoned champions, have benefited from his advice, calm guidance, and deep understanding of the sport.
The BRCA Fellowship is one of the Association’s highest honours, reserved for individuals whose contributions have significantly shaped and strengthened the organisation.
John’s Fellowship acknowledges not only his service to the sport but also the integrity, passion, and generosity of spirit with which he has represented the BRCA throughout his career.

Part of this process, all members must complete the password reset and renew their membership for the 2026 season before 1st January 2026.
This update is critical to maintaining the integrity and safety of member information following the security improvements made earlier this year.
Members who do not complete these steps before 1st January 2026 will have their accounts permanently deleted as part of our data security programme.
This deletion will include the removal of your BRCA number, meaning it cannot be recovered or reissued. A new number would be assigned if you rejoin at a later date.
The BRCA is committed to maintaining the highest standards of cybersecurity and data management.
