Welcome to the 1/12 Electric Circuit Section of the BRCA.
1/12 scale is one of the oldest RC racing classes still in existence and can trace it's roots way back to the 1970's. Traditionally it was a training and development ground for drivers who later went on to become champions in this and other classes. More recently the class has become more specialised, due in no small part to the development of a wide range of other RC categories over the years.
That said, 1/12 is still a class that caters for competitors of all ages and abilities. The recent introduction of the GT12 class has resulted in an explosion in popularity of 1/12 scale racing at club level, and our national championships continue to be well attended.
Whether you're just a casual club racer or a pro driver, the 1/12 section has something to offer you and we invite you to come and share experiences with us.

Round 1 and Round 2 LMP 1/12th Circuit National Eastbourne
Our weekend down south was for filled with tight margins. Saturdays qualifying came down to the very last round. Previous national champion Mark Stiles had been dominant up to this point winning 2 of the first 3 round of qualfiying , with Schumachers Andy Murray taking one of the early rounds. Marks round 3 time set a high bench mark for the final round of qualifying where it seemed like anyone could snatch the top spot from him. However it was a shock TQ in round 4 for Chase Mackman who missed out on overall TQ by just 0.05. Awesomatix filled the front row of the grid. While Louis Parker found himself 3rd with Micheal Bolt and Matthieau Dambrine 4th and 5th . An impressive display from Mattheau on what was only his second national round. A mistake late on in the final round of qualifying denied Finely Whitelock of a being a few places higher, he would line up 6th. Adam Mackman would line up 7th with the Schumacher trio of Sam Coult , Andy Murry and James hart rounding of the grid.
In the final all eyes would be fixed on the top 3. For the first 4 minutes Mark and Chase went wheel to wheel with Louis Parker remaining within striking distance. A slight clip of the kerb coming through one of the chicanes from Chase pushed him wide and Louis was up to second. Chase would not accept this though as then attempted a moved up the inside 3 corners later. Both cars went wheel to wheel but unfortunately lent on each other a bit to much and their bodies got tucked together. Luckily for them they had a large margin over 4th place Sam Coult and 5th Adam Mackman who had been battling hard for the majority of the race. Louis and Chase rejoined back in 2nd and 3rd. Due to the collision between 2nd and 3rd Mark Stiles had checked out as he drove to a comfortable victory. Louis and Chase finished of the Podium. Sam Coult and Adam Mackman finished 4th and 5th. With And Murray and Matthieau Dambrine coming home in 6th and 7th positions. James Hart had made up 2 places as he finished in 8th place. Micheal Bolt finished in 9th , and an unfortunate retirement for Finely Whitelock rounded of the order.
With the class being passed at the latest AGM. LMGT3 made it debut at the first national. From the get go Mark Thomas was the one to beat with his destiny chassis. The two Pop along RC boys of Mark Broom and Carl Rowland where probably the two closest cars in this class. With Ian Fakenbridge not a million miles behind. Mark Thomas converted his TQ to a win in the Final with Mark Broom and Carl Rowland rounding out the top three. The next round at Stafford should be an exciting one for the class.
Onto to Sunday, Round 2 . From the get go Mark Stiles continued from where he left of. However a super fast run from Micheal bolt in round 2 swung the door wide open. However a even faster run from Mark in round 3 put him back to the top of the time sheet. There was no improvement from Mark in round 4. However he still confirmed another overall TQ . The dramatic story of round 4 however was Louis Parker pipping Micheal Bolt by just 0.02. Chase Mackman would line up P4 with another impressive display from Matthieau Dambrine who would line up 5th on the grid. The two Schumachers of Andy Murray and Sam Coult would line up in 6th and 7th. Followed by two Awesomatix cars of Alex Robertson and Adam Mackman in 8th and 9th. To round of the grid James Hart would line up P10.
The first few laps where clean in the final. However a crash between Louis, Micheal and Chase demoted them to the back of the field. Mark had cleared off and was in a wonderland. While positions 2-10 were seperated by the straight length. The Cars who'd been involved in the crash at the start had joined the back of the queue and had began to pick places off one at a time. Positions where changing all the time. Except for Mark who had stopped for a spot of lunch. Mark topped of a perfect weekend as he crossed the line to take another win. Sam Coult and Louis Parker finished 2nd and 3rd with Chase Mackman and Micheal Bolt finishing in 4th and 5th. Then followed James Hart and Alex Robertson and then Adam Mackman and Andy Murray .
This weekend was also the return of the modified class. We had 8 cars and for whatever reason 4 of them where called Mark. However despite the 50% chance that someone called Mark takes top spot. Young Andrea Torregiani took TQ. However an unfortunate retirement in the final gifted Mark Jordan the win from another Mark! Mark Jewitt finished in second with Micheal lee rounding out the podium .
We hope to see you all at Stafford in a few weeks. entries are looking good and we hope your all looking forward to another great weekend of racing.
