Saturday – 2WD Race Report
The BRCA National Championship made its way to Bury for another weekend of highly competitive racing, with the 2WD class taking centre stage on Saturday. With twelve finals running from L through to the A Final, there was plenty of opportunity for drivers throughout the field to make their mark, and the racing delivered close battles and some excellent performances from the next generation of National competitors.
From the very first final of the afternoon, the racing was competitive, with drivers fighting hard for every position and looking to progress through the finals. The lower finals also provided some of the weekend's most enjoyable stories, with several younger drivers putting themselves firmly in the spotlight.
L Final
The L Final got the afternoon underway, with Paul Steadman taking the win after completing 11 laps in 5:18.29. He was closely followed by Under 13 driver Finn Mulcahy, who also completed 11 laps, finishing just 0.60 seconds behind the winner. Jessie Russell, another of the Under 13 stars, completed the podium, making the opening final a great showcase for the young talent coming through the National series.
Jack Flynn also impressed, finishing fifth after completing ten laps, while Louie Stephenson battled through to ninth.
K Final
The K Final saw Martin Lea take a convincing victory, completing 12 laps in 5:22.21. Michael Halsey followed closely behind, with Rich Savage and Miklos Szabados completing the top four.
There were strong performances throughout the field, with a number of drivers producing consistent 12-lap runs and setting the pace for the higher finals.
J Final
Evie Tames headed the J Final with a 12-lap run in 5:25.13, while Mark Mitchell and Colin McCaffery completed the podium. Phil Campbell and Steven Harley also produced solid performances, with eleven laps each.
The final demonstrated just how competitive the midfield remained, with only a few seconds separating several of the drivers at the chequered flag.
I Final
The I Final produced another excellent drive from Jack Mills-White, who took victory with 12 laps in 5:08.85. Joshua Anderson and Tom Hayward followed him home, while Paul Jenkinson and Shaun Thompson also completed 12 laps.
Mills-White's result was particularly impressive given his Under 13 status, and it would prove to be one of several standout junior performances throughout the day.
H Final
Chris Foster took the H Final after a strong 12-lap performance, finishing ahead of James Procter and Matthew Hodges. David Burton and Peter Craig also completed 12 laps, with the field producing some close racing throughout the five minutes.
James Procter was another of the leading Under 16 drivers to make his presence felt, finishing second in a competitive final.
G Final
The G Final was won by Mannie Panesar one of our committee members best friend, who completed 12 laps in 5:09.14. Hattie Tames followed in second, with Dylan Richardson completing the podium.
Graham Lisle, Chris Pattinson and Richard Miller were all within a few seconds of one another, underlining just how close the racing was in the middle of the field.
F Final
Ben Elliot took the F Final after completing 12 laps in 5:03.64, with Matthew Dodd and Ben Stephenson joining him on the podium. Ashton Perei also produced a strong drive to finish fourth, while Chris Elworthy and Liam Robinson completed 12 laps.
There was another notable performance from Ahsan Saeed, who finished ninth and would go on to take the honour of being the leading F5 driver of the meeting.
E Final
The E Final produced one of the standout drives of the afternoon, with Charlie Rhodes taking the win after completing 12 laps in 5:02.95. Andy Woods and James Pritchard followed him home, with only a little over a second separating the top three.
Rhodes' victory was particularly significant as he was competing in the Under 13 category, making his result one of the day's biggest junior highlights. Ewan Mulcahy and Jamie Long also put together strong 12-lap runs, while several Under 16 drivers continued to make their presence felt.
D Final
The D Final was another closely fought contest, with Hudson Knight taking the victory after 13 laps. Eugene Galley and Aaron Nash completed the podium, while Alex Pyatt led the chasing pack in fourth.
William Fisher, Stephen Brown and Oliver Frost all completed 12 laps, with Oliver Nattress finishing fourth and putting together another strong performance on his way to second overall in the Under 16 category.
C Final
Ewan Tumilty claimed the C Final after a strong 13-lap performance, finishing ahead of Ryan Clarke and David Scott. Seth Shillito-Everiss and Chris Evison completed the top five.
The final also featured a very impressive performance from Adam Perei, who finished eighth overall but took the honours as the highest-placed F3 driver. His pace throughout the meeting was a clear indication of his progress and made him one of the drivers to watch as the day progressed.
B Final
The B Final saw Mark Anthony Jones take a hard-fought victory after 13 laps, with Matt Drewett only 0.46 seconds behind at the finish. Archie Bowman completed the podium, with Oliver Nattress producing another excellent performance to finish fourth.
Freddie Thompson also impressed, finishing sixth overall and securing the honour of being the leading F2 driver. His 12-lap run was another indication of the depth of talent within the field.
A Final – The Main Event
The three-leg A Final brought the day's 2WD action to a thrilling conclusion, with ten of the fastest drivers on the weekend battling over three legs.
Jamie Hall delivered when it mattered most, producing an outstanding 1-2-1 scorecard across the three legs to take the overall National victory. Hall opened the final with a win before finishing second in Leg 2, leaving everything to play for in the final encounter. He then returned to the top step in Leg 3 to secure the overall victory with a score of just two points.
Ben Smith was consistently at the sharp end throughout the A Final, recording a 2-1-3 scorecard to finish second overall. His Leg 2 victory kept the pressure firmly on Hall and ensured the battle for the overall win remained alive until the final leg.
Tommy Hall completed the overall podium after steadily building his performance through the three legs. A fifth-place finish in Leg 1 was followed by third in Leg 2 before he saved his best performance for the final leg, finishing second to secure third overall.
Behind the leading trio, Lee Martin took fourth overall with a consistent 3-4-9 scorecard, while Daniel Pole produced an exceptional performance to finish fifth overall. Pole's result was particularly impressive given that he was also competing in the Under 16 category.
Lewis Hopkins finished sixth overall, ahead of Luke Holdsworth, Matthew Thompson, Josh Holdsworth and Thomas Phipps. With the top drivers all completing 13 laps across the A Final, the margins were tight and consistency proved crucial.
Special Mentions
There were plenty of performances worthy of recognition throughout the meeting, with the class and junior categories providing some fantastic results.
Top F2 – Freddie Thompson
Freddie produced a strong performance throughout the finals, culminating in sixth place in the B Final and the honour of being the leading F2 driver.
Top F3 – Adam Perei
Adam enjoyed an excellent meeting, progressing to the C Final and finishing as the highest-placed F3 driver. His pace against the more experienced drivers was particularly impressive.
Top F4 – Stuart Robinson
Stuart battled his way through a competitive field and finished as the leading F4 driver, a well-deserved result after a strong day's racing.
Top F5 – Ahsan Saeed
Ahsan was the meeting's leading F5 driver, showing good pace and consistency throughout the day.
Under 16s
The Under 16 category once again highlighted the strength of the young talent competing in the National Championship.
1st – Daniel Pole
2nd – Oliver Nattress
3rd – Rhys Trewartha
Daniel Pole's overall A Final result made his Under 16 victory particularly impressive, finishing fifth amongst the senior field. Oliver Nattress also enjoyed an excellent meeting, progressing to the B Final and finishing fourth, while Rhys Trewartha secured third in the junior category.
The performances of all three drivers demonstrated that the future of the National series is looking very strong.

Under 13s
The Under 13 category produced some of the biggest highlights of the meeting, with Charlie Rhodes taking the overall victory after his superb E Final win.

Rhodes' 12-lap victory in the E Final was one of the standout performances of the day, while Jack Mills-White was equally impressive with his I Final victory.
There were also special mentions for three more Under 13 stars who showed plenty of promise throughout the meeting:
Finn Mulcahy, Louie Stephenson and Jessie Russell all put in excellent performances and continue to demonstrate the depth of young talent coming through the National series. Finn and Jessie were particularly impressive in the L Final, finishing second and third respectively, while Louie fought hard throughout the lower finals.

A Great Day of 2WD Racing at Bury
From the opening L Final to the three-leg A Final, Bury provided a full afternoon of competitive 2WD racing. While Jamie Hall took the headline victory, the meeting produced plenty of stories throughout the field, from the strong F2, F3, F4 and F5 performances to the exceptional results from the Under 16 and Under 13 drivers.
The depth of talent on display was perhaps the biggest positive from the day. With young drivers such as Daniel Pole, Oliver Nattress, Rhys Trewartha, Charlie Rhodes, Jack Mills-White, Jack Flynn, Finn Mulcahy, Louie Stephenson and Jessie Russell continuing to make their mark, the future of the National Championship looks extremely promising.
With the 2WD action complete, attention now turns to Sunday and the 4WD class, where another full day of National Championship racing awaits.
BRCA National Championship – Bury
Sunday – 4WD Race Report
After a highly competitive day of 2WD racing on Saturday, attention turned to the 4WD class on Sunday as the BRCA National Championship continued at Bury. With another full field working their way through twelve finals, the racing once again provided plenty of close battles, impressive drives and some fantastic performances from the younger members of the National field.
The 4WD class brought its own challenges, with the pace noticeably higher than the previous day's racing. From the opening L Final through to the three-leg A Final, consistency was vital, and several drivers produced excellent drives to work their way through the finals.
L Final
The L Final got the day's 4WD action underway, with Zack Trodden taking the victory after completing 13 laps in 5:19.56. The race was a competitive affair, with several drivers completing 12 laps and fighting hard for every position.
There was also an early glimpse of the young talent that would feature throughout the day, with the lower finals providing plenty of opportunities for drivers to progress through the field.
K Final
Shahid Khaliq took the K Final after a strong 13-lap run in 5:25.66, finishing just 0.32 seconds ahead of Neal Lewis. Robert Tyas and Ava Griggs followed, both completing 12 laps.
A particularly notable performance came from Tommy Clark, who finished fifth overall and was the leading Under 13 driver in the final. Clark completed 12 laps and continued to show impressive pace against the more experienced field.
J Final
The J Final produced another strong performance from the younger drivers, with Ross Everill taking the win after completing 13 laps in 5:09.31.
James Pritchard finished second, while Jack Flynn produced an excellent drive to finish third overall. Flynn's performance was particularly impressive given his Under 13 status and would contribute to another strong weekend for the young driver.
Simon Hudspeth also had a standout drive, finishing fourth overall and taking the leading F4 position in the final.
I Final
The I Final saw Joshua Anderson take a convincing victory with 13 laps in 5:01.01. Steven Harley finished second, with Lee Stokes and Colin McCaffery completing the top four.
The final remained closely contested behind the leader, with several drivers completing 13 laps.
H Final
Richard Miller headed the H Final after completing 13 laps in 5:06.23. Matthew Hodges and Scott Whyman followed him home, with Michael Halsey finishing fourth.
The final also produced another good performance from the developing drivers, with a number of F2 and F3 competitors putting themselves in strong positions as the afternoon progressed.
G Final
The G Final was won by Evie Tames, who completed 13 laps in 5:01.47. Ahsan Saeed followed just 1.46 seconds behind, while Keith Halsey completed the podium.
Saeed's excellent drive was another indication of his pace throughout the weekend and helped secure him the honour of being the leading F5 driver in the 4WD class.
James Gibbs, Peter Craig and Paul Griggs also completed 13 laps, making for a closely fought final throughout the field.
F Final
The F Final saw Isaac Mcfadyean take the win after completing 14 laps in 5:16.59. Harry Saunders finished second, with Tristram Neal completing the podium.
Charlie Rhodes was another of the standout young drivers, finishing fourth overall and being the leading Under 13 competitor in the final. Rhodes completed 13 laps and continued his excellent weekend.
E Final
William Fisher took the E Final after completing 14 laps in 5:19.58, finishing just 0.64 seconds ahead of Oliver Frost. Alex Pyatt was third, with Hattie Tames and Andy Manning completing the top five.
Oliver Frost's performance was particularly noteworthy as he was competing in the Under 16 category, continuing the strong junior showing throughout the weekend.
D Final
The D Final produced another impressive performance from Colin May, who took the win after completing 14 laps in 5:14.18.
Kevin Hodkinson followed just 0.71 seconds behind, with David Scott completing the podium. Eugene Galley and Chris Pattinson rounded out the top five, while Aaron Nash and Callum Akeroyd-Bench also completed 14 laps.
The pace was extremely strong throughout the final, with the leading drivers maintaining average laps in the low 22-second range.
C Final
The C Final was won by Archie Bowman, who completed 14 laps in 5:04.16. Charlie Simmons and Matthew Thompson followed him home, with Tommy Dale and David Scott also putting together strong performances.
Bowman's victory was particularly convincing, with his average lap of 21.73 seconds demonstrating the pace required to compete at the sharp end of the 4WD field.
B Final
The B Final saw Lewis Hopkins take victory after completing 14 laps in 5:02.52. William Skidmore finished second, with Mark Anthony Jones third.
Oliver Nattress produced another excellent performance, finishing fourth overall and once again showing the pace of the Under 16 drivers. Hudson Knight, Stuart Mahon and Ryan Clarke were all within a few seconds of the winner, while Seth Shillito-Everiss finished ninth and secured his place as the leading F2 driver of the meeting.
A Final – The Main Event
The three-leg A Final brought the 4WD action to its conclusion, with ten of the fastest drivers at Bury battling over three legs.
Tommy Hall produced a superbly consistent performance to take the overall victory. After finishing fifth in the opening leg, Hall responded in style, winning both Leg 2 and Leg 3 to finish with a score of just two points.
Thomas Phipps was equally impressive, winning the opening leg before backing it up with second place in Leg 2. A sixth-place finish in the final leg gave him a score of three and secured second overall.
Josh Holdsworth completed the overall podium with a 7-3-2 scorecard. After a difficult opening leg, Holdsworth steadily improved through the final, finishing second in the deciding leg to secure third overall.
Lee Martin was remarkably consistent throughout the A Final, recording 2-4-4 finishes to take fourth overall. Daniel Pole once again produced an exceptional performance, finishing fifth overall with a 4-5-3 scorecard.
Pole's result was especially impressive because, alongside battling amongst the leading senior drivers, he was also competing for the Under 16 honours.
Jonathan Skidmore finished sixth, followed by Ben Smith, Luke Holdsworth, Charlie Saunders and Jamie Hall. With the leading drivers completing 14 or 15 laps in the three legs, the pace at the front was extremely high and consistency proved decisive.

Special Mentions
The 4WD meeting produced some fantastic performances across the different Formula classes.
Top F2 – Seth Shillito-Everiss
Seth was the leading F2 driver, putting together a strong meeting and progressing all the way to the B Final. His ninth-place finish in the B Final underlined the strength of his performance.
Top F3 – Jack Mills-White
Jack was the leading F3 driver and produced another excellent weekend. His pace was particularly impressive given that he was also competing in the Under 13 category.
Top F4 – Simon Hudspeth
Simon produced a strong performance throughout the finals and was rewarded with the leading F4 position. His fourth-place finish in the J Final was a particularly strong result.
Top F5 – Ahsan Saeed
Ahsan was once again one of the standout F5 drivers, finishing second in the G Final and securing the overall Top F5 award. His performance showed excellent pace against a highly competitive field.
Under 16s
The Under 16 category produced another fantastic battle, with the same three drivers once again taking the top three positions.

Daniel's fifth-place finish in the A Final made his victory particularly impressive. He was able to compete directly with some of the fastest senior drivers throughout the three legs while also taking the Under 16 honours.

Oliver Nattress continued his excellent weekend with fourth place in the B Final, while Rhys Trewartha also showed excellent pace and consistency.
Under 13s
The Under 13 category once again provided some of the biggest highlights of the meeting.

3rd – Jack Flynn
Charlie Rhodes was once again outstanding, producing a strong drive in the F Final to finish fourth overall and lead the Under 13 competitors.
Jack Mills-White was equally impressive, taking the I Final in 2WD on Saturday and continuing that form into Sunday. His 13-lap performance in the F Final and overall pace throughout the meeting earned him the Top F3 award as well as second place in the Under 13 category.
Jack Flynn also enjoyed an excellent meeting, finishing third in the J Final and continuing to show that he is more than capable of competing with the senior drivers.

There were also special mentions for three more Under 13 stars who continued to impress throughout the weekend:

A Fantastic 4WD Sunday at Bury
Sunday's 4WD racing provided a fitting conclusion to a busy National Championship weekend at Bury. From Zack Trodden's victory in the opening L Final through to Tommy Hall's A Final success, every level of the field produced competitive racing and plenty of stories.
The performances of the younger drivers were once again one of the biggest positives from the weekend. Daniel Pole and Oliver Nattress continued to show that they can compete at the sharp end of National racing, while the Under 13 contingent of Charlie Rhodes, Jack Mills-White, Jack Flynn, Tommy Clark, Jessie Russell and Louie Stephenson all demonstrated just how much talent is coming through.
At the sharp end, Tommy Hall's 2-1-1 scorecard gave him a deserved 4WD National victory, while the performances of Phipps and Holdsworth ensured the battle remained close throughout the three legs.
With both classes now complete, Bury has provided another hugely successful National weekend and plenty of momentum heading into the next round. The championship now moves closer towards the business end of the season, with every point becoming increasingly important as the remaining rounds approach.
