Hednesford Indoor Raceway is in the main sports hall at Staffordshire University Academy in Hednesford. We Race every Thursday evening from September through to early May. As this is a School, we are closed on occasional evenings due to school exams. We hold about 3 club leagues during the indoor season where members can score points. In addition, we host several national events including a round on the BRCA 1/12 series and rounds of the Mardave GP series and the new Mini Masters Series.

Some refreshments are available at our club events such as tea & coffee, also pop and crisps and chocolate. There are several local takeaways nearby such as McDonalds, KFC, and subway.  At larger events there is usually a food van on site.

Racing Details

On Thursdays the hall opens at 17:00 (If you are helping set up) if not the hall opens at 17:30. Racing starts at 18:15 till around 21:30. We always ask for your help in packing everything away as the hall must be vacated by 22:00

Indoors we race 1/10 Touring Cars, and the popular Mini class (Mardave, Kamtec, BattCave), we are also running the BL-ROD class that is a brushless motor using the 1/12 Mardave Hot Rod car. In the buildup to a 1/12 race series, we also run the GT12 and LMP class of cars

Personal transponders are encouraged; however, we do have some loan ones available.

Our large indoor venue measures 18 x 33mtrs. This allows us to run on Lindau carpet with an area of 14 x 28mtrs (almost 400m²) The track layout changes usually for the start of a new league.

There is plenty of Mains power available, and pitting tables and chairs are also supplied.

We welcome young and old alike, of all skill levels from beginner to expert.

We have a large rostrum that can cater for 10 drivers. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the hall flooring we are unable to offer a stair lift to allow access for the less able.
