GLASGOW RC CLUB – A COMMUNITY OF RC CAR ENTHUSIASTS

We are a friendly community group who race electric powered radio controlled 1/10th off-road buggies and trucks in the Glasgow area.

Previously known as Glasgow Model Car Club, we have been established for over 30 years providing a fun, safe and sociable way to enjoy the hobby racing 1/10th electric buggies. We are constantly improving our own all-weather AstroTurf outdoor track facility to provide a superb venue for everyone who wants to take part in RC racing, focused on fun, racing, learning and making friends.  We always aim to be friendly and welcoming to all!

If you are new to the hobby and are interested in finding out more, pop down and say hello, as most people are keen to show their pride and joy, and will explain some things about the cars.  The club also have some demo cars for anyone thinking of taking up the hobby, but these must be booked on our website.  These can be booked for 5 or 10 minutes for a quick try, or you can book one for the whole race day!

Our track is 50m x 28m with an astroturf surface that includes tabletops, bombhole and also moveable jumps.  We have a number of tables. chairs and gazebo shelters available and will try and accommodate any visitors.  We also have 240v mains power for charging.  More info about our facilities on our website. www.glasgowrc.com

We run at the track on most Sundays – you can find our calendar here - https://glasgowrc.com/calendar/

We hold regular social nights at the East Kilbride Sports Club building mostly on a Wednesday evening, especially when the weather or lack of light means we have to stop running on the track.  Social nights can be an excellent way of learning and a place where you can ask questions about anything RC related.  Subjects often include what to buy,  car setup, driving techniques and many more!

Lots of info also available on our Facebook group.

Excellent facility, welcoming people

As the title suggests, I attended round 1 of the club championship and was welcomed by all the folk at the club. Had a great day of racing on the huge Astro track. The club balances a strict safety etiquette with a no ego, help all attitude which was brilliant to be part of. Whether racing 2WD, 4WD or both, the day flows smoothly and irrespective of ability or age, all is encouraged and supported. Highly recommended ?

Fantastic place to race

If you have a 1/10 electric off-road car, then get yourself along to GlasgowRC. This is a fantastic place to race for both the beginner and seasoned racer. Very friendly and welcoming no matter what level you are at. Race/club days on most sunday's through the summer from March until September. Come and try out large astro turf racing track with very good levels of grip. A great bunch of guys/gals who will make you feel welcome. The club have cars that you can try with our famous 'have a go sessions' drop them a message on facebook to find out when the next meeting is on. The BEST club in Scotland, so come along and join the fun.

Friendly and welcoming club

The club is incredibly supportive of new racers of any age, with anyone coming along to the club being very warmly welcomed, with all levels of experience catered for and supported. The level of support for beginners is high, with members happy to take time to assist new racers with all things RC, guiding them through a race day, helping with there cars, charging and doing any repairs. The club facilities are great with a pitting area for a race day, and mains electricity supplied. With the club based in a sports club, visitors and members can access the facilities with a bar, toilets and somewhere to get snacks and drinks. Races are controlled via a timing system with all results uploaded on-line, and there is an online calendar to see when an event is scheduled. The members have a good range of experience giving anyone at any level some good competition, with the more experienced racers happy to help with driving tips and suggestions. Cannot recommend this club more.
