This statement is an official clarification regarding two key rules outlined in the association's regulations. These clarifications are issued on the grounds of safety and come into effective immediately and will remain enforce until the 2025 AGM where they will be reviewed.
1. Mandatory Drivers’ Briefing Attendance
As stated in Section 7 of the main association rules and Section 8 of the LSOR Procedural Rules, all drivers are required to attend the drivers’ briefing on every day they intend to race. The relevant main association rule states:
"All sanctioned meetings (e.g. Internationals, Nationals, and Regionals etc.) must have a drivers’ briefing before the start of the racing, all drivers are required to attend. The drivers are responsible for communicating all information to anyone else concerned (e.g. mechanics, guests). The drivers briefing must contain: Format of the event; Designation of the track area; Location of safety equipment; Location of Fire Exits; Explanation of any local rules; Marshalling requirements; Identification of Officials; plus any other information the organisers deem necessary."
"If a meeting is over more than 1 day, and consists of separate events, then a drivers briefing should be conducted before the racing commences each day."
To reinforce the importance of this rule, attendance at the drivers’ briefing is now explicitly mandatory. Any driver who fails to attend the briefing and subsequently participates in racing on that day will be disqualified from the event. This measure is necessary to uphold the highest safety standards and ensure all competitors are informed of essential race-day protocols.
2. Body Shell Visibility Requirement
To clarify the LSOR Construction Rules, all body shells must be either painted or fully wrapped. Clear or unpainted body shells are strictly prohibited. This rule is in place to ensure cars remain clearly visible to race officials, marshals, and other competitors, reducing the risk of incidents on track. All competitors are required to comply with this regulation before their car enters the track area. Any car found in violation of this rule will not be permitted to participate until it meets the required standard. Failure to comply with this rule will result in an immediate black flag and will be subject to the penalty equivalent to failing technical inspection as per LSOR Procedural Rule 14.5.
