This past weekend was Round 3 & 4 of the BRCA LMP12 National Championship, held in Chesterfield.
Round 3:
Qualifying started with Ollie Payne at the top of the list, until Michael Bolt took the overall TQ
in round 4 of qualifying. Ollie Payne would line up in 2nd and Andy Murray in 3rd. A special
mention goes to Daniel Burks for qualifying for his first LMP12 National A-Final
The A Final started with Michael Bolt pulling a small gap from Ollie, but a small clip of a
hairpin allowed Ollie to make an overtake for the lead of the race. The top 3 remained the
same for the rest of the race, with Ollie Payne taking the A Final win, Michael Bolt in 2nd,
and Andy Murray in 3rd. Mark Stiles who started 8th managed to gain 3 positions and finish
5th in the race, as well as Daniel Burks gaining 1 position to finish 9th.
Round 4:
Qualifying for Round 4 had a clean shutout for Ollie Payne, Top Qualifying every race round
and securing the overall TQ with a 41 lap race time. Mark Stiles qualified 2nd just ahead of
his teammate Michael Bolt in 3rd. A special mention to Alex Robertson for qualifying for his
first LMP12 National A-Final.
The A-Final started with Ollie holding onto the top spot, however an unfortunate issue
occurred dropping him down the order and resulted in a DNF. This however promoted Mark
Stiles to the lead of the race after an impressive overtake, and Michael Bolt followed closely
behind. Mark Stiles would cross the line to take the win in the A final, with Michael Bolt in
2nd, and Louis Parker in 3rd after gaining 2 positions during the race. The race order would
shuffle around in the A final, with both Morgan Williams and Sam Coult gaining 2 positions
during the race, and Chase Mackman gaining 3 race positions.
A huge thank you to the Chesterfield club for the amazing event, and we’re all looking
forward to returning back for Rounds 5 and 6, where your 2024 LMP12 National Champion
