The Chesterfield Club held rounds 5 & 6 of the LMP12 national series and what a great two days it was. The club produced a tight track making 8mins hard to complete mistake free. Two new first time A finalists again! Alex Bold qualified 8th on the Saturday, however he wasn't the only one who made their first appearance in the A final. The tone went and the championship battle commenced and it was the perfect start for Ollie as he led the clean starting field away in formation order. Ollie immediately broke away from second place Andy, Sam Coult had a fast starting Mark Stiles hunting him down until a minute in when a small mistake dropped mark down to p6. A few laps later another mistake from Mark would see Finley and Alex Sneak their way up into 6th and 7th. Alex Bold was leading a train of 4 cars for the next couple of laps and we saw some close battles between Alex, Finley, Mark and Adam while  2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th battled for the podium places. An incident between Alex and Finley would see Adam Mackman and Mark Stiles move up places. The closest battle on track was now for the final podium place between Sam Coult and Michael Bolt. 4 minutes down and ollie was now making his way though some back markers. The battle for third was about to get a whole lot better as Morgan Williams and Mark Stiles had joined the party. Still in action at the rear of the field, a battle for 7th place was starting to build up between Finley and Adam. with 40 seconds to go Sam and Michael had now started to close the gap to Andy in third place. Across the line came Ollie Payne who took the national championship of 2024! Andy Murray finished second and despite constant pressure from Michael it was Sam Coult who made the bottom step of the podium.
