The fifth and penultimate round of the 2026 season was held at the challenging Cotswold circuit on the weekend of the 22nd/23rd August . The weather was dry and sunny all weekend . There was a lower entry than usual with no GT8 drivers competing.

On Sunday morning it was straight into qualifying after the drivers briefing.

After 4 rounds of qualifying the positions were as follows :

2nd - Ollie Williams
3rd - Matthew Cook

TQ - Glyn Beal
2nd - Neal Wallace
3rd - Mark Boothman


Finals:
B Final 220mm GT
Jason set off from pole position with Jerome in close pursuit. Jerome then managed to overtake . The two remained close throughout the race with the lead swapping several times between the two .Fuel stops came into play as Jason was managing to do 5 mins .This paid dividends with him eventually winning by 15 seconds. Meanwhile Adz ,have been driving steadily , was gradually closing in on Jerome finishing just 7 seconds behind at the end.

A Final 220mm GT
TQ Glyn Beal lead from the start with Neil Wallace in a comfortable second. . Richard and Daniel were jostling for third when Neil retired allowing Richard into second. Daniel eventually overtook with Richard holding a comfortable third. Late on in the race Glyn’s engine seemed to go lean with his lead gradually decreasing. Fortunately for him Daniel just failed to close in finishing 7 seconds behind. Meanwhile Richard overturned his car allowing Dev to overtake and claim the last podium position.

A Final Saloon Touring
TQ and multi National Champion Alex led from start to finish finishing 3 laps ahead of the field. The battle for the remaining podium positions however was very close between Ollie, Matt,and Craig. All three finished the full race with Craig in 4th .
Ollie and Matt had a good tussle for most of the race with Ollie coming home just 6 seconds ahead of Matt after 30 minutes of racing.

A good weekend’s racing. Thanks to Richard in race control. With several championship positions still to be decided the final round takes place at Halifax on the 19th/20th September.
