10th IC Circuit

The second round of the 2025 season was held at the technical Cotswold circuit on the 10th/11th May. Another good forecast for a dry weekend. Grip was reasonable following the 1/8 meeting a week earlier.

Sunday morning followed the usual format with a short period of open practice, driver’s briefing, and then straight in to the qualifying heats.

After 4 rounds of qualifying the positions were as follows :

GT8 Electric

TQ Mark Green

2nd Nigel Fox

3rd Josh Dando

200mm Touring

TQ Alex Thurston

2nd Ollie Williams

3rd Ollie King

220mm GT

TQ Craig Nutting

2nd    Matthew Cook

3rd Richard Kozakiewicz

Wide Touring

TQ Peter Vater

2nd Paul Dewsnap

3rd Nigel Philpott

Finals:

C Final 1/10

Phil Edwards led from start to finish . Nigel Philpott and John Russell were in close pursuit until a collision on the straight resulted in both leaving the circuit for repairs.  Dev Mahatme eventually took second,   2 laps behind Phil. Brent Jeffrey took third.

1st Phil Edwards (Serpent)

2nd Devendra Mahatme (Capricorn)

3rd Brent Jeffrey (Capricorn)

B Final 1/10

This was a close one with a 3 way tussle between Neil, Bob and local driver Jerome. Neil drove consistently to take the win. Jerome and Bob swapped places a few times with Bob just holding of Jerome to take second.

1st Neil Wallace (Serpent)

2nd Bob Harley (Infinity)

3rd Jerome Evans (Capricorn)

A Final GT8 E

Mark Green took the first two legs to seal the win. Nigel Fox the third leg. Josh completed the podium.

1st Mark Green (Serpent)

2nd Nigel Fox

3rd Josh Dando

A Final 1/10

TQ Alex Thurston led off then never relinquished the lead. There was a close battle for second between Matt Cook and Richard K until Richard had a flame out. Matt took second just one lap behind Alex. Meanwhile Jen Garrett was a comfortable third with debutant Peter Vater a consistent fourth. A few minutes from the end Jen’s rear belt stripped allowing Peter to take the third place. Ollie Williams took fourth with Ollie King in fifth. An interesting and unusual final with only one 220 in the top five places. 200mm still alive and kicking !

1st Alex Thurston (Mugen)

2nd Matthew Cook (Mugen)

3rd Peter Vater

Another great weekend’s racing. Thanks to the Cotswold club for putting on a good meeting particularly to both Steve s in race control. The next round is the weekend 7th/8th June at Brooklands.
